Health Checkup Prices by City: Compare Like-for-Like in China

A price range needs a definition

A city does not have one checkup price. Ordinary outpatient packages, international or special-needs hospital services, and private-clinic packages are different products. A provider's member price is not automatically available to a visitor, and a coordination fee is not the hospital's examination charge.

The table below is a narrow, dated comparison: adult checkup packages in a private medical group's public booking catalogue captured on 20 October 2026. It is not a survey of every institution in each city, a public-hospital price list or a PriumCare offer. The captured variants are labelled as member prices. Confirm membership eligibility, the selected variant and current availability before relying on a figure.

    Nine-city member-price sample

City Captured adult package range, CNY
    Beijing 1,700–3,800
    Shanghai 1,700–3,400
    Guangzhou 1,700–3,950
    Shenzhen 1,700–3,950
    Chengdu 1,500–4,190
    Wuhan 1,500–3,300
    Changsha 1,500–3,550
    Suzhou 1,500–3,300
    Hangzhou 1,500–3,150

These are package ranges, not an all-inclusive trip budget. The sample excludes separately listed add-ons, single investigations and disease-management programmes. Different tiers and sex-specific options account for part of the range. A higher price does not by itself establish that more testing is appropriate for you; ask a clinician about the scope.

Some offers are tied to a named branch or health-management centre. The captured Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu listings contain location restrictions. Confirm the exact branch instead of assuming the same offer is valid throughout the city. The sample does not establish direct-billing eligibility.

Compare the quotation, not just the starting figure

Ask whether the quote includes the initial consultation, the complete test list, any preparation or sedation, interpretation, report explanation and follow-up. Ask how changes recommended by the clinician are priced. If the source is a promotional or member catalogue, clarify the conditions separately; do not treat those conditions as PriumCare's service terms.

Keep three totals separate: the medical institution's bill, the agreed PriumCare coordination service, and travel or accommodation. A package anchor such as PK1 describes coordination deliverables; it should not be presented as the price of all medical tests in the table. Obtain a written quotation for the combination you actually intend to purchase.

    Questions patients ask

Are these the cheapest prices in each city?

No. They are the observed range in one defined private-provider sample. They do not establish a city-wide minimum or a ranking.

Can every international visitor buy at the member price?

This article does not establish eligibility. Ask the provider about membership, the selected branch and the current offer before paying.

Does the range include endoscopy or every add-on?

Do not assume so. Read the itemised package and any separately priced options. Clinical suitability is a separate decision.

Can I compare this directly with the older hospital price index?

Only after matching the collection date, institution type, department and inclusions. Our historical price index describes a different sample; its older low starting figures are not quotations for an international-department visit today.

    Evidence and next step

Editorial data check: 25 October 2026. Source: the private provider's booking-catalogue capture of 20 October 2026, preserved with variant-level screenshot references in PriumCare's source register. Public presentation uses an unnamed provider to avoid implying an unconfirmed institutional endorsement. The figures are research examples, not live inventory, a clinical recommendation or a promise of insurance payment. Use the article's coordination link to ask for the current written scope and quotation.
